Scramble Competition Rules
Each team member hits a tee shot on every hole. The team then selects one ball to continue play from. The player whose ball is chosen marks the spot and plays the next shot first.
If the selected tee shot is:
- On the fairway: The teammate drops their ball within one club length of the spot, but not closer to the hole.
- On the green: The teammate places their ball in the exact same spot.
- In a bunker: The teammate places their ball in a similar lie, but not closer to the hole.
- In the rough: The teammate drops their ball within one club length in the rough, but not closer to the hole.
- In a penalty area: The teammate either places their ball within one club length in a similar lie or takes relief according to the normal penalty area rules.
The same procedure continues until one of the team’s balls is holed.
A teammate may stand on the putting line while the other player putts.
Team Handicap Calculation:
- The sum of both players’ slope ratings is calculated.
- 25% of this sum is taken as the team’s playing handicap.
- The result is rounded to the nearest whole number.
- Note: The team’s playing handicap cannot exceed the individual slope rating of the player with the lower handicap.
